August 2007 News I'm
trying a new way to keep in touch —
hope you like it. This way I can let people know about publication and
tour dates,
interviews, reviews, all that craic. Let me know what else
you'd
like to see... BOOK THREE STILL ON THE WAY Still
writing away, trying to make this new book
really worth the wait. The current working title is FALSE MERMAID,
and it's the third in the series, which means Nora Gavin will be
traveling back
to Saint Paul to re-open her sister's unsolved murder, leaving Cormac
to make
amends with his ailing father back back in Ireland. I'm anxious to
finish
because I can't wait to see how it turns out. You'll be the first to
know when
there's cause for celebration! LAKE OF SORROWS NOW IN TRADE PAPERBACK A special book club edition I'll
be doing some book chats and readings in conjunction with the
publication of this latest edition (see Upcoming Appearances at left).
Reading
and talking about books has always been one
of my favorite pursuits, so as I was thinking of better ways to
connect with
you all, it occurred to me that one of the best ways might be join in
your book club discussions. So I'm
extending a hand to book
clubs
everywhere. Send me an invitation to the meeting where you'll be
discussing LAKE OF SORROWS, and I’ll be
delighted to join you.

KNOW... Many
HAUNTED
GROUND readers have wondered
how to pronounce the name of Una McGann's daughter Aoife. For the
record, it's
'EE-feh.' On my website, you'll find a handy pronunciation guide and glossary
with definitions for other possibly unfamiliar names and words
you'll find in the books. And if you find any mistakes, or need to see
other
names or expressions added, just let me know!
AND FOR
THOSE WHO LIKE IRISH MUSIC... Some of you may know that
my husband,
Paddy O'Brien, plays Irish traditional music — jigs, reels and
hornpipes, just
like the music featured in my stories. Paddy and his band, Chulrua,
have just
released a brand-new CD called THE SINGING KETTLE, on
the
Shanachie Records label. It's available at various shops and online
retailers,
and directly from the band at the Chulrua website. |
